Shurman Passes Through for a Studio Session
Friday, September 18, 2009 at 7:26PM As many of you know, I have been working with the Band for Shurman for about a decade now. So when frontman Aaron Beavers called to book a session with me I was not suprised. When Aaron requested a studio session I was very suprised!
In 10 years of shooting for these guys we had never stepped foot in a photo studio!
We set out to create a photograph that would look good large or small, and in both magazines and the ill fated newsprint! That means simple solid backgrounds! Generally, it also means boring!
How did we do? You be the judge, boring, or no?
Below, the fruits of our labor. A 'how to' post and lighting diagram to follow.

Luck Blue and I Get Lucky in Safford, Arizona!
Sunday, September 6, 2009 at 10:09AM As you can see in the following image, we got a rare thing on this shoot, well, rare for Arizona in the summer; we got weather!
Sort of a mixed blessing, the skies looked great, but the session was seriously shortened and some of the gear got an uneeded bath.
Arizona Counrty music artists Lucky Blue, formerly Slade, is comprised of Aaron Ballard, Brent Slade and Mark Baker. They contactd me to create some new promotional photographs for their EPK. Because they were playing a show in Safford Arizona with
Due West we decided to schedule the session before the show.
We were only able to get roughly 50 frames in to the session before sky opened up and drencehd us! This is one of the few frames we were lucky enough to get! Look for a lighting diagram and another 'how to' post soon!

Sorry it has been so long...
Friday, August 28, 2009 at 5:43PM Finally the summer is coming to an end. The end of the 110+ degree days. The end of the AWFUL sun angles that grace Phoenix during the summer months.
Most importantly, the end of what is known as the 'slow work' season! In reality, this summer could've been called 'the 'no work' season!
All apologies for the lack of blogging. I have got your messages and requests! I promise to get some for 'how to' posts and lighting diagrams up soon!
Thanks for your patience! In the mean time, go out and make some great lighting diagrams of your own at the online Lighting Diagram Creator. It's a great tool, and it's free!
